Cool Running Manager
Features
The best way to describe the features of Cool Running Manager is to compare the "old" method of doing things (manual, paper-based)
versus how to do the same work with Cool Running Manager.

Old Method |
With Cool Running Manager |
| Customer Book |
Three-ring binders were used to keep track of customers.
- If a customer was added, we had to add a separate sheet to the back of the book to keep track of new entries.
- If new prices were added, all books had to be changed or reprinted costing at least a days worth of hours.
|
ONE entry is made into the Cool Running Manager,
which in turn would sync with all the handhelds of Cool Running Driver.
As simple as that, all information is up to date.
|
| Merchandiser Information |
Merchandiser information was all kept in a file and never kept up-to-date. We had no idea of what they owned nor were they
able to keep the file up to date.
|
Our records are always up-to-date and we keep detailed history of all maintenance performed on each ice chest.
Olmsted Ice now can keep track of all locations of its ice chests along with when they are due to be picked up from that location
|
| Scheduling |
We used a paper-based schedule book. Inside that book were hand-written orders along with special event order sheets
that were paper clipped to the day they needed to go out.
|
The entire order is entered into the Scheduling area along with what the customer has ordered.
- When the time came for this ordered to be delivered, it will show up in the routing area.
- This order will then sync with Cool Running Driver handhelds.
- When the driver makes the delivery, Cool Running Driver displays the entire order along with notes that were taken
at the time of delivery.
|
| Routing |
We used a combination of pre-set, paper-based route sheets to complete the weekly routes. Stops were often crossed off routes
and added to other routes. This system was sloppy and constantly added places for errors.
|
All the pre-set routes are loaded inside the Cool Running Manager. These pre-set routes are
compared with the stops that are scheduled and then creates all new routes.
- No more crossing stops off a route and manually adding them to another route.
- Stops are "Click and Dragged" from one route to another.
- All routes are downloaded onto the Cool Running Driver.
- All missed stops can be accounted for on a daily basis.
|
| Reporting |
We relied on a lot of manual entry of customer sales to create spreadsheets and graphs.
|
We can now use all the data that has been collected in the Cool Running Manager to
create many different reports and graphs to help with daily operations.
New reports are added every season.
