The Roots of Cool Running Software
Cool Running Software was founded by
Tony Dickson of Olmsted Ice and their strategic business partner
Matt Walker,
a software architect in the Greater Cleveland area.
Before the creation of
Cool Running Software, Olmsted Ice was using a "Triple Entry" system:

- Entry #1: Driver makes a paper ticket when they make a delivery.
- Entry #2: Tickets come back to the office and the route manager enters information about the delivery.
- Entry #3: Office personnel enter Tickets into accounting system.
This process was flawed with various points of failure, an abundance of possible data entry errors and inefficiency.
For years we wanted to create a system that would
eliminate these issues and reduce the time necessary to manually enter delivery tickets.
In 2003, we created the first component of our
Cool Running Software suite, known as
Cool Running Manager.

With the help of Matt Walker, we mapped and flowcharted our entire business from Equipment to Route Management to Receipt entry.
Now, Olmsted Ice and many other ice companies enjoy a "Single Entry" system that
removes receipt errors and
saves on bookkeeping and routing expenses.
Customers of the
Cool Running Software suite of applications have only one regret
after installing our products, and that is that they
wish they made the move sooner!
